This video actually appears on the Advanced Photography Techniques Video and I have been meaning to post it on Youtube for sometime. Now that I am trying to do a comprehensive review on the most popular lenses, I thought it would be useful for those of you who do not own the DVD. I hope you enjoy it!
Prices on all lenses have gone up since we recorded this, but you can get them on all Bhphoto.com:
Canon 50mm 1.8
Canon 50mm 1.4
Canon 50mm 1.2 L
Thanks : )
Very interesting. I have a 50 mm myself and I still think it’s one of the best lenses.
I did a comparison of the 50mm 1.8 mark i & the 50L on my blog, with whole pictures and 100% crops if anyone interested to see that.

I just upgraded from the 50mm 1.8 to the 50mm 1.2 and I seem to be having a little trouble with focusing and producing sharp images. When taking portraits I use the single focus square and focus on the eyes and recompose. This is actually a technique I learned from a video I purchased from you and has been working very well until I started using the 50mm 1.2. Do you have any tips/suggestions on what I may be doing incorrectly or how I can get sharper images?
