A few days ago Photorumors.com made a post about Canon raising their prices 10% due to the weak US dollar, as well as discontinuing several P&S Cameras.

Canon Rumors has also confirmed 3 new point and shoot cameras announced at CES, so we know this rumor is at least halfway true.

My suggestion would be, if you are on the fence about getting some new Canon Camera gear, now would be the time to do it. I buy everything I own now from BhPhoto.com, they have an excellent return policy. I once bought a $1500 lens, used it for a week and returned it no problem. I hate hearing horror stories of friends buying gear and not being able to return it when they are unhappy with it.

In any event, if the rumor turns out to be true and you are eyeing that new 70-200 2.8 IS L Lens, it will cost almost an additional $200 after a price increase.
