You can do some really amazing Time-lapses with DSLRs. Most Time-lapses work best with something that is moving over time such as clouds, people walking down a busy street, or even the stars at night. Note that you will need an Intervalometer like the Canon TC-80N3 in order to do this on a DSLR.
