That depends too much on a large client base. Garmin has an interesting tracking device that is stand-alone and can be tracked in a mobile app, as well as in your browser. Search for "Garmin GTU 10". It has a GPS and 3G connection built in. It is designed for use with pets and alike. It is the kind of device that would do well in your photography backpack, or in your BackRapid shoulder pocket. In case of the item being lost/stolen you will certainly be glad you had it on… I have been using a couple of theses units for a while now. The system works superbly.
