I try to stick with the brand names as much as possible, picked these up at Circuit City and it was all they had. All 10 of the disks were defective, they recorded media fine, but the playback was not good at all. I was spoke with one of the reps from Discmakers yesterday, and he says it happens occasionally, even with brand name discs.
Did you know that Hollywood DVDs are made differently than the ones you burn? Yep….Hollywood Movie DVDs are stamped from a glass master, so there is relatively no chance of reading error. “Burnt” disks (the ones you make) have an error rate that hovers around 20% on all DVD players, depending on the player. More on this to come.
I have learned a ton of information about DVD disks since this post- I will be posting again soon on it. All DVDs are not created equal! Be very careful about this, just because its a brand name doesnt mean it is good. standby for more info!
