As many of you know, I opened up a photography contest a few weeks ago. The contest will be displayed at the Nashville workshop from Aug 27-29, Grand Prize is one of the Canon Rebel T1i’s I am using for the Crash Course DVD to come out next month.
This is an interesting little note:
We have had ZERO submissions
What this means is, there is about 2.5 weeks left and there wont be much competition. Here are the details:I am officially opening our first (hopefully annual) Michael Andrew Photography Contest. There will be 5 categories (im open to adding more, but this should cover most):
Portraiture (People)
Landscape / Nature
Abstract
Sports
Macro
Winners of each category will receive a free copy of either Michael Andrew Paintballer Pro or Michael Andrew Lollipops (their choice) – If we have enough submissions, there will be additional prizes for 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Of the 5 category winners, one will be selected as “Best of Show” of the contest and be awarded one of the Canon Rebel T1i Cameras, with 18-55mm Kit Lens (in like new condition) used to film Michael’s next video: Canon Rebel T1i Crash Course DVD.
To Enter:
You must print your submission on an 8 x 10 (with a white border) to:
Michael Andrew Photography Contest
1141 Nashville Circle
Indianapolis, IN 46229
Deadline for submissions is Aug 20th 2009
You may enter more than one category, but may not enter more than one into each. By Submitting your photo you agree to have your image displayed at the Nashville Workshop as well as on this blog and possibly other websites when announcing the winner.
Good luck!
I seriously never win anything but maybe I’ll submit a couple of shots…..let’s see if I can get them to you by the 20th!!!!!
Michael, do the 8X10 photos have to be "clean"…by that I mean can our name/copywright/watermark be on the photo?
Make sure your photos are clean!
Yes, clean- however be sure to include your contact info as well as identify which category you are entering. You can include a note or write your information on the back of the image,
what size does the white border have to be?
As small as possible. Look we dont want to complicate this. Just send us your great shots for the contest. Thanks!
Do abstracts need to be necessarily unrecognizable shapes, textures or patterns? Or do random objects count as well?
I’ve been thinking through my submissions – hoping to have something in !!!
is there any restrictions on the capture date
should be digitally captured and most importantly- you must be the photographer. 🙂
just received my pictures to send in and they didn’t get printed with a white border on them…can I still submit them?
Why dont you accept the digital form? Any reasons?
