Alright, here is my 1st attempt from last night at Haleakala. I wanted to try something a bit different, so I was focusing on foreground elements that I could work into my technique (which you guys all already know by now if you have been reading my blog). I have a couple more Id like to work on this week. The Red Rock is just a red flashlight used to “paint” over lava rock on a very long exposure. You can see my flashlight on the far right as I am “painting” during the exposure:
We had a beautiful sunset. Got some really amazing video which I would like to grab some shots from, but it was something like this:

Holy! This is wild. What a terrific photo Michael! I’m Going to be visiting Maui over the next couple of weeks. Haleakala Sunrise on the agenda. I missed this spectacular moon by a few days unfortunately…
