Just to give everyone a heads up. I have a unique opportunity to visit North Korea in September. I will be there for one week and it is my understanding that I will have plenty of photography opportunities. I am traveling with an experienced group, and will have to go through Beijing to and from. Its a ways off, but I am both nervous and excited.
Something I am slowly learning is that so much of what we do and achieve in life is proportional to how “big” we think.
People who think big seem to be more successful and happy. They are able to see things normal people can’t and take big risks. They also seem to be more ridiculed when they fail.
Im not a huge fan of small thinkers because worry about every little teeny tiny thing, complain and talk about why they can’t.
I want to be able to “think bigger” than I do now. How do you make yourself think bigger? You have to take calculated risks that scare you a little.
Oddly, after a day of thinking about it, I booked my reservation and I started thinking about other places in the world I would like to visit one day. The 3 I immediately thought of were “Antarctica”, “Mt Everest” and “maybe a photo safari in Africa”. I haven’t really had those thoughts before…at least not on a serious level. Granted I have no idea how or when I could make something like those places happen, but seemingly…booking a reservation to North Korea somehow makes me believe visiting these other places are more possible.
I guess what I am saying is…if you want to think BIG….you have to be willing to get uncomfortable and take a chance, no matter how big or small it may be.
1. Your ability to think BIG expands with your effort to make big thoughts happen.
2. The more you work towards a great idea, the more new great ideas you will get.
