As you know there is a movie coming out soon called “Dark Zero Thirty” which is supposedly pretty good, but from what I am reading is grossly inaccurate. On the way home from Las Vegas last month I picked up “No Easy Day” which was written by one of the Seals on the mission that killed Bin Ladin. In that book, the author emphasizes the reason he wrote it was to set the record straight. The State Department and White House even went so far to threaten to sue him for revealing classified information.
It is an easy, engaging, quick read (shouldn’t take more than a day) and I definitely recommend it to all patriots.
I just finished this book a couple of weeks ago. Great book and highly recommended. Can’t wait to wait the movie to see how close it is.
Michael, have you read "Lone Survivor" and "Service" by Marcus Luttrell? Both of them are great reads as well. If you haven’t and you liked "No Easy Day", then you should read them. In 2013, there is going to be a movie from them as well. Excited to watch it. Rumor has it that Marcus Luttrell is helping direct it so it represents his book with no inaccurate information. We’ll see. If you do read them, enjoy!
The only easy day was yesterday. This is/was a motto for the Navy Seals for sometime. I don’t know if it still is. It simply means that you survived yesterday so it must not of been too difficult, or something like that. I believe my days are easy compared to what they have to face in any given day.
I read it and it is good but the guy is a sellout. Seals are supposed to be quiet. He’s taking the cash by telling the story when it is not his story to sell. The entire team earned it, not him. The setting the record straight line is obviously a lame excuse for raking in millions while his team members get nothing.
