focal plane mark (for example on a macro lens if the minimum distance is 30mm, so 30mm from this mark)

I think its also the reference to the sensor.
Thats right! (All three are correct). This is the location mark for where the digital sensor is, also referred to as the Focal Plane Mark. It means that the sensor is at this depth, and you can use a ruler to measure things like minimum focusing distance, or even focal length and aperture if you know the depth of the primary lens.
