The rangers of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area set up motion cameras to capture and track area wildlife. A few days ago they got a really awesome image of a mountain lion with the city of Los Angeles in the background.

“L.A. is one of only two megacities in the world (the other is Mumbai) with large carnivores living within the city limits. This remote camera photo captured an adult female mountain lion in the Verdugo Mountains with the L.A. skyline as the backdrop.”
