Congrats Michael.. great pics…! these days i’m having a really difficult time trying to decide which one will be my next "L" lens, I own a beloved 24-105 usm L.. but, i need a shorter and faster lens for indoor- tight spaces shooting…i need to replace my sigma 18-50 that served me very well, and I’m thinking about the 16-30 L and the legendary 24-70 L both for indoor use only… the problem is: the 24-70 is TOO OLD and everyone is expecting the newer version in anytime, and the 16-35 is TOO EXPENSIVE and i don’t have any opinion how it performs paired with a Canon 7D… there is a third alternative that is the canon EF S 17-55, but isn’t a really tough build lens for that price…. help me again with this problem teacher and thanks in advance
Roger
I understand your situation. My best advice: Go with the 24-70 2.8, IF and only IF it is released this year, it will probably be at least another 6 – 9 months before anyone will actually be able to get their hands on one. Canon has been very slow recently getting new lenses into stores. The 24-70 is hands down one of my favorite lenses and is a "must have".
Nice shots Michael, can’t wait to go back to Maui…!
Well… finally my 24-70 L is on the long way home.. long because it took me a whole year (and a few words of Michael) to decide the buying… so i think that this lens will not compete with my 24-105 but well complement each other… deciding which one of these lenses to buy is an agonizing process to most of us,
