I learned today that a study was done in 1999 on “luck”. Researchers took two groups of people, one group who considered themselves lucky and the other who didn’t. They were asked to predict the results of multiple coin tosses, and the statistics indicated that the “lucky” group was no more correct in guessing the correct flip than the “unlucky” group.
However, in an exit poll, the “lucky” group seemed to remember positive experiences more frequently than negative ones, and the “unlucky” group focused on the negative.
What this suggests is this: people who consider themselves “lucky” do so because they focus on the good in their life, which in turn leads to a more positive attitude, which leads to more positive relationships, and more positive opportunities. That’s right, your attitude plays a role in the opportunities you see, and the relationships you experience. So in reality:
What we understand luck to be is really the result of a positive attitude.

I have to agree with you completely on this. Or, this is how I always saw "luck". If I have a positive view on something things seem to work out better.
I feel Blessed! I often think of the luck scenario you posted…
I started this past year to keep a Blessing’s Book. For instance I believe my financial security has always been a blessing from God. I have always been faithful to return a tithe to God. As a result, I have had almost immeasurable financial blessings this year. I don’t think I could ever out give God… That is the reason behind the Blessing Book. I am charting and taking time to give thanks for the blessings in my life. This has been the best experience. Now I worry so much less, because I have an abundant record of the many, many times God has been faithful to provide for me! I believe this relates to those who have the positive outlook you were talking about, I chose not to focus on the financial challenges in my life, but the times God has proven Himself faithful to me, as a result I have known more Blessings than Struggles this year.
