A deep understanding of light is very important for every artist, including photographers. In the video below creative visual agency Dpt. and artist Laurent Craste came together to create an installation for the Chromatic Festival in Montreal.
The installation is made from two porcelain vases and a hanging light source. The resulting shadows appear to be dancing when the light source is swayed, moved, and spun. It creates a very enchanting effect. However, the lesson on light and shadow is actually pretty valuable one that every photographer should be familiar with.
