The 7D is different and unique in that has an outstanding complement of both focusing systems and frames per second (8), which make it my top choice in this list for those of you who shoot sports or nature type photography. The 1.6x crop sensor will also give you that extra reach you need to get close. It’s magnesium alloy body can take a beating. When I go on my disaster aid trips, I pair it with the Tamron 18-270 and that is all I bring camera wise.

While the 7D shoots excellent video, it’s achilles is that is suffers from high ISO noise. In light of that alone, it is a GREAT all around camera, very solid for portraits too.
