This is a really good example of how doing the 365 will expand your skill sets in ways you don’t even realize. The only way I was able to do this was because I learned something very interesting from Day 40– In fact, the idea came from knowing this principle, I was thinking “How can I exploit this to make a cool 365?”
Not the easiest shot to pull off, especially with the flash in the room with me.
Amazing shot Michael, you are really brave leaving your camera out in the open, hehehe…
very creative. i love the ideas you come up with. keep it up.
How far was the camera from you? And how did you trigger it?
Great shot…but I agree…I’d be afraid to get that far from my camera!
Camera was actually in my CAR, locked, used Joby Gorilla Pod to secure it to my steering wheel. If you think about it, you can only do this shot with 3 or more pocket wizards if you include a flash. One to activate the timer on the camera, one to trigger the camera, and one to trigger the flash. The Flash had to be turned on between the time I activated the timer and before the camera triggered the radio signal back to the flash. Pocket Wizards work through glass (see Day 40) up to 300 feet (though Ive never gotten them to work that far).
wow what an imazing shot… words just cant describe it.
