Ive been getting quite a few emails about the 580 Speedlite DVD. Just know that its coming and it will be well worth the wait (like the Photoshop DVD for those of you who saw it). What I originally planned for the 580 is finished. I just keep finding AWESOME ideas for lessons, so I have to add them. Hate me or love me for it, either way, these are very, very solid lessons. Running into a problem though, the DVD length is at 2 hours and 45 minutes right now, which is much longer than I wanted it to be.

For those of you who saw any of my Canon DVDs, do you remember how near the end I kind of wrapped up all the skills together in a “Portrait Crash Course”? Well tonight I went out and got a few shots for lessons to show you how to set up and combine many, many Flash skill sets together for one single image. Shooting outdoors at night (no bounce flash) is probably one of the toughest ways to shoot with flash, if you have the skills, you can pull off shots like this, if you dont, they will be very average. The below image was shot with a single 580 Ex II Speedlite. Ill show you how to do this on the DVD. 🙂

I thought Id have some fun so I used Paintballer Pro to spice it up and decided to get in the shot. I’m in there….. somewhere……

Thanks to Terra our model for a great shoot tonight.
