One effective and fun way to sharpen your Photoshop skills (especially when you’re first starting out) is to follow along with video tutorials. Learning cool little effects and tricks is always just fun to try anyway. Once you do enough of them you’ll start to discover your own way and your own style.

Here’s a video from Phlearn on how to add a sunset effect to an image. This exercise can add a little drama and interest to a photo.
