Photographers Emil Sollie and Mats Grimsæth devised a concept that would involve a surfer under the Northern Lights. They teamed up with Red Bull and Elinchrom to make the vision a reality. They also got Mick Fanning, one of the world’s most talented and well-known surfers, on board.
The team headed to Lofoten Norway in hopes of making this whole thing come together – and it wasn’t easy. They described it as one of the most technically challenging shoots of their lives. When the shoot was done they weren’t even sure if they had any good shots to work with. As you’ll see below they actually nailed it with an amazing and unforgettable image.
