Ive been informed that my copy of Canon 24-70 2.8 L II lens will be in my hands by the end of the week, probably Friday.
This is a pretty big deal for me because I have religiously used the first version; Canon 24-70 2.8 L just about on every wedding, portrait, event and video shoot for the last 9ish years. It is the first lens I recommend any serious photographer get, and it shines on both full frame and 1.6 crop frame bodies.
The Nikon Guy on Youtube has done one of the first video comparisons of the old and new lenses, while his presentation is a little rough (and long) this video gives you a good idea on the size and image quality differences. The new version is looking (significantly) sharper, with better colors and less vignetting. I am ok with the 82mm Filter, as I already have a bunch for my Canon 16-35mm 2.8 L II .
Ill do some test shoots as soon as it arrives. Excited!
