Caught the 12:01am showing of Avatar in 3-D tonight. Believe the Hype – It was absolutely outstanding and is without a doubt a MUST see. It is visually STUNNING and emotionally engaging on a level I haven’t felt in a long time. It almost felt as if I was actually in the movie experiencing everything Jake Sulley was. It felt more like a cutural experience than a movie. Hard to explain.
Compared to what else is coming out in theaters these days, Cameron raises the bar so high I do not think anyone (not everyone, anyone) else will come close for several years to come. The attention to the details was incredible. Ive never seen anything like it.
A tip, make sure you see it in 3-D, pay the extra money for it, absolutely worth it. Do not allow yourself to see it in 2-D if the 3-D theaters are sold out…just wait and see a 3D showing. With previews, its almost 3 hours long, so this is something I cannot watch too many times over, but I will absolutely be going again to see it in theaters.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say this will give Titanic a run for its money in worldwide sales (Which is 1.8 Billion Dollars, yes you are reading this correctly). Expect it to shatter most of the US records, and deservedly so.
If you have very young children, it is not for them, and just FYI there’s a lot of swearing.
Wow! Such an outstanding MA approval says a lot for this movie. I am anxious to see it as well.
I can’t wait to see this. we don’t have a 3D theater here 🙁 but I’m sure I’ll love it on the big screen
WOW – you certainly put a different light on that for me. I saw the previews in the theatre and just thought – Bomb, big time. Now I’m kind of interested to see the whole thing 🙂
I wanted to see it from the very beginning and after I saw how it was made I wanted to see it even more!
We were going to go see it in regular theaters tonight but if we can get to see it in 3d that would be awesome we’ll have to see if there’s a 3d theater close by
I agree with Boz… I wasn’t really interested in this movie just from the ads. But from what you’re saying, I think I may go see it. Maybe it will be a movie to see with the siblings on the holidays.
Saw it in 3-D tonight. Amazing. The previews do not do it justice. For such an epic movie it has lousy previews. I don’t know how you would make a good 30 sec preview, the movie is just too big to give a feel for it in that time. I back Michael up on this one, go see it! Hats of to James Cameron.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G – SOOO beautiful!!!
It will be sometime before there is a movie to compare with the visual scope of Avatar.
went to see it last night. was awesome
