Allison and Brad
Had a great engagement shoot this evening with Allison and Brad. I really like them because Allison is supremely organized and she knows what she wants. When she booked with me it didn’t take any convincing, she knew. She had taken the time to go to my website, look at my work and feel confident in my abilities.
For me this is the most ideal bride. It was after I met her that I decided I would no longer meet with “potential” brides unless the were ready to book. It has been a great move for me and I no longer to try to sell my services. Either a couple wants me or they don’t. Oddly I have been booking many more weddings since the change.
Whenever I shoot engagements I start with the safe shots, you know….the ones you usually see in announcements. We like to see happy smiling faces, and of course an amazing wedding ring!
As we progress….we start to experiment and have fun. I asked Brad and Allison to reenact the moment after Allison said yes.
The Conan the Barbarian pose. This is a good one to have at the entrance of your home.
And finally as we were winding down, the lights at the park came on. I decided to really push it experimentally. Allison and Brad were game…these are the results.
My best pictures are never the safe ones, they are the ones were the couple, as well as myself are willing to try something new and take a risk. These last few pictures took 30 attempts before we got them right.
I am so excited about these last shots! :)
