2016 was not a good year for camera sales. There was an 81% drop on all camera sales compared to 2010. Noninterchangeable lens camera sales have diminished drastically. Everybody assumed DSLR sales would be down because mirrorless sales would cut into the market. Sad news is that both mirrorless sales AND DSLR sales are shrinking.
So the question is, why? The team that made this video says it's due to these 5 things:
1.Smartphones killed the compact camera market
2. Mirrorless aren’t fulfilling their promise
3. The DSLR market is shrinking
4. Cameras are for older people
