Variety Talks with ‘The Revenant' Cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki
'The Revenant' is an upcoming movie by the same award winning director/cinematographer team that made 'Birdman'. Their newest venture stars world-class actors Leonard DiCaprio & Tom Hardy. It's a take on American frontiersman Hugh Glass harrowing experience after being attacked by a bear. In his talk with Variety cinematographer Lubezki shares how the film (which is already garnering excellent reviews) was shot entirely with natural light. They primarily used the sun, moon, and fire.
