This post I found shares a really cool new trend. Talented retouching artists are taking famous old photos and beautifully colorizing them. We've always viewed history (before the invention of full color Kodachrome) in terms of black-and-white. The lack of color gives an instant sense of age. When seeing these famous faces, places, and events in full living color it's fascinating and somewhat jarring. It brings the dreamy distance of time to a screeching halt. Albert Einstein, weary trade workers, Japanese archers from 1860 now look real and present.
