The response my
Canon 70D vs Nikon D7100 Epic Shootout has been positive and I have been flooded with various questions and requests for more of these types of videos. I do not think it is possible to do more than a handful of them a year because they take so much time. The Epic Shootouts take typically 3-4 full weeks, and sometimes I really question if they are worth doing. It is so tempting to simply read spec sheets between the 2 cameras, throw out some numbers, opinions without experience or data and really do it all in one day, but YouTube is already flooded with these kinds of videos. What I am trying to do is give a completely different camera comparison experience.
I'm learning more about the process, and slowly improving what I do, and I hope I can get to the point where it is only taking me a week or so...not sure if that is possible.
I have some other Youtubers who when they found out these videos are 30-40 minutes in length, told me I was crazy, that I should break it up into teeny tiny chunks and post them as "parts". I disagreed.
Youtube is essentially a way to own your own TV channel...think about that.
I look at the Epic Shootouts as an exercise in being patient, methodical, and an opportunity to do the very best job I possibly can and hopefully this will carry over into everything else I do. I want to be the best me I can be, and that takes a daily effort. My next Epic Shootout should be ready next week.
Here is one of the images from the new video:

Thankful to my friend Jen who was able to step in and help out with the modeling!
