Being a Friend
I may be wrong, but I would say that at least 75% of being a good friend is knowing when to just shut up and listen. There is something about our human psyche that requires another person to give time and attention to us in order to feel validated, respected and appreciated. If you do not have someone to talk to just about ideas, feelings, dreams, frustrations, it is almost as if they are not as substantial.
