First let me wish everyone a Happy Easter. I am so grateful for so many blessings. Its been good to take the week mostly off and get some rest.

Something very important that I need to do is setting up my own NGO. I have spoken with many, many people about this and I’m pretty certain I am going to move forward with it. It brings a lot of firepower to the table should another emergency happen (it will) and I am still in a position to help (hoping I will be able to).

I need help on something though…

…the name.

We need a really good, solid name. This is critical to starting any organization and I need it before I can submit the paper work. I am asking for suggestions from you guys because many of you have some really, really great ideas.

A little about the organization which I am starting is that it will be doing the same type of stuff I have already done in Haiti and in Japan. It will deal mostly with some type of rapid response, disaster Information Systems. It will continue to focus on small groups of people who have slipped though the cracks of the main aid effort, and I want it to stay extremely flexible and adaptable according to the situation.

For now, it will be very small (just me and a few other volunteers), but having my NGO will allow me to establish credibility faster, save time, have a clear mission and purpose, as well as raise money when appropriate.

If you look at the names of some really great branded NGO’s there are some common themes:

– Red Cross
– Salvation Army
– Samaritan’s Purse
– World Vision

Typically there are 2 words, a type of adjective and a noun. Many of them have references to either the bible or some type of bible theme (this is not necessary just something I noticed).

I am looking for a name that has 2-3 words, embodies the idea of speed, location, possibly aid and/or charity. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Make sure you leave your email address if you are suggesting something, because if I like it enough to use it, I will send you $100 through Paypal. First person to post the suggestion gets ‘dibs’ on that phrase. Suggest as many as you like!
