Caroline (05.19.13, 12:46 AM): 8.8 is what I rate it due to the fact that i could go with my Dad, my nephews, my friends and not want to bury my head in embarrassment because for ONCE there is a series of funny, exciting, nostalgic, well written movies completely VOID of violence, swearing, rape, drugs, sex...completely UNNECESSARY elements in a GOOD movie...I believe there is more to the human condition than the surface struggle...Star Trek illuminated the human condition; the need for a consciousness.. and although Kahn exploited that in Kirk...in the end every other relationship Kirk had was about the conservation and the perserverance of the human condition...family, love, friendship, loyalty, fathers n sons...being apart of something instead of being a part of some thing. The pauses in the music is what makes the melody so sweet...same as words... A space makes a world of difference... I love Star Trek...now to see it in 3d...
