I’ve had the Samsung NX-1 for a few days now, very interesting mirrorless camera that shoots internal 4K for less than $1500. There are some things about it that are incredible.

We decided to do some quick comparisons with other cameras, including the Panasonic GH4, which is now one of my favorite cameras, not just for internal 4K.

When we look at the photo site size (the actual physical dimensions of the light catching buckets that create individual pixels) the NX-1’s 28MP APS-C vs the GH4s Micro 4/3 format, they are very similar in size, but the NX-1 features some new backlit sensor technology, copper interconnectors that reduce resistance and heat, increasing performance.

Take a look at this ISO chart (these are JPEGs with standard noise reduction), the NX-1 impresses for a mirrorless camera compared to the GH4:

We are undecided on whether or not we will do a training video on the NX-1, but the GH4 course can be purchased here:CLICK HERE for Michaels GH4 Tutorial Training Video
