I finally caught one of these things yesterday at Big Beach. Not an easy thing to do (pretty much impossible- I’ve been trying for years).
This is a female crab and the black patch you see on her belly are thousands of little eggs!
They’re easier to catch when you throw a big pile of sand on them while they’re running away from you. Having all that sand on top of them gives them a false sense of security so they just freeze. ;D
